Character List & Descriptions
*Please note the Character List and Descriptions are subject to change.
Princess Rose: Our Sleeping Beauty. Kind, clever and warm-hearted. A modern Princess with a good head on her shoulders. Caring and responsible, but still young enough to be curious… which gets her into trouble.
Prince Edward: Our hero. A free spirit who longs for adventure and independence. A bit awkward and not always smooth, but very genuine. Wears his heart on his sleeve.
Muddles: Palace Jester. Big-hearted idiot with terrible jokes and brilliant comic timing. Childlike, dopey and endlessly lovable. Think “lovable disaster”.
Nurse Polly: Our Panto Dame. Loud, brash, fearless and in charge. Sharp tongue, big personality, lots of audience interaction. Absolute boss of the Palace.
King Bumble: Ruler of the Kingdom. Madly in love with his Queen. Over-the-top, dramatic and desperately trying to be “cool” and modern. A big softie.
Queen Bee: Doting mother and devoted wife. Just as over-the-top as the King. Loves her family fiercely and thinks she’s far more “with it” than she actually is.
Aunt Zelda: Our Baddie. The King’s evil sister. Bitter, dramatic and power-hungry. Loves the sound of boos and thrives on chaos. Proper pantomime villain.
Bobtina: Zelda’s son and sidekick. Thick as two short planks. A total mummy’s boy who desperately wants to impress but always messes things up. Comedy gold.
The Good Fairies (Gracious, Vain & Kooky):
Narrators of the story.
- Gracious: The sensible one. Kind, caring and always trying to keep the peace.
- Vain: Obsessed with her looks. Sharp, sarcastic and full of one-liners.
- Kooky: Sweet but not very bright. A bit of a ditz with innocent misunderstandings.
Herald: Formal announcer of royal events. Can be doubled with other small roles.
