Fame Principal Auditions

Leixlip Musical and Variety Group is thrilled to present Fame – The Musical in April 2026!
Directed by Claire Tighe, with Musical Direction by Dermot O’Callaghan and Choreography by Claire Tighe and Jen Dawson, LMVG’s production team returns for another high-energy showstopper – joined this year by Ross Murray as Assistant Director. This electrifying production will light up Leixlip from Tuesday 21st April to Saturday 25th April 2026.
Principal Auditions
- Advance registration is required. Registrations will close on the 23rd November 2025.
- Acting/Vocal Auditions: Wednesday 26th November from 7:30pm. Auditionees will be allocated a time slot in advance.
- Principal Dance Call: Thursday 27th November at 7:30pm. All those auditioning for principal roles, except for teacher roles, must attend the dance call.
- Callbacks: Callbacks, if required, will be held during the week commencing 1st December.
- Location: The LMVG Prefab, Green Lane, Leixlip, W23 NX4D.
- Note: Auditionees must be 16 years of age or older. Audition material will be sent once you have registered. Please note, there are currently no plans for open ensemble auditions.
Character List
- Serena Katz – Sensitive and shy, Serena matures into confidence; romantic, funny, and open-hearted. Majors in drama.
- Nick Piazza – A serious actor searching for meaning beyond celebrity; sincere, introspective, and idealistic.
- Joe Vegas – A loud, funny, and cheeky acting student who hides vulnerability behind humour. Develops a crush on Carmen.
- Carmen Diaz – Ambitious, fiery, and defiant – determined to “live forever,” Carmen embodies
- both the glamour and danger of chasing fame and is a strong dancer/vocalist.
- Tyrone Jackson – Street-smart dancer with attitude and vulnerability; struggles with literacy but finds freedom in movement.
- Iris Kelly – A classically trained dancer, polished and poised, but struggling with insecurity and snobbery. Shares complex chemistry with Tyrone.
- Schlomo Metzenbaum – Thoughtful musician rebelling against his classical upbringing; Carmen’s collaborator and conscience.
- Grace “Lambchops” Lamb – Energetic, quirky, and fun-loving drummer in the band at the High School of Performing Arts. She’s loud, impulsive, and full of attitude. Acting role, no solo singing.
- Goodman King – A talented musician and Schlomo’s best friend. Easy-going, dependable, and warm-hearted.
- Mabel Washington – Comic relief with heart; talented but insecure about her weight! Warm, big-voiced, and endearing. Designs on being a dancer.
- Miss Esther Sherman – Strong, principled academic who values education over stardom. Tough love mentor.
- Miss Greta Bell – A passionate and protective dance teacher who believes dance is a way of life.
- Mr. Sheinkopf – Precise, fussy, easily exasperated but passionate. Comic acting role, no singing.
- Mr. Myers – The passionate, no-nonsense drama teacher . Calm authority with flashes of intensity. Acting role. No singing.
